Agriculture Education

Program Info
The Agriculture Education Program at Morehead State University is an option of the area of concentration in agricultural sciences. Agriculture core courses are provided as the framework for the degree with ancillary courses in agricultural mechanics, agronomy, horticulture, agribusiness, animal sciences and education.  It is a diverse agricultural program providing hands-on opportunities in various animal and plant laboratories with a significant contribution of education courses offered in the College of Education.

Agricultural Sciences - Agriculture Education
Students graduating with a BS in Agricultural Sciences, Agriculture Education Option pursue agriculture teaching positions in middle and high school grades or with governmental agencies.

Students earning the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education will be certified to teach Agriculture classes in public and private schools in the state of Kentucky.

Admission to Morehead State University (see MSU admission requirements).

Students seeking teacher certification must apply for and be admitted to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) at MSU.  Students must have an overall GPA of 2.5 in area of concentration courses before they will be permitted to take agricultural education courses.  Students must be approved by the agricultural faculty and recommended for certification.
