Study, Meeting & Presentation Spaces

There are many areas of the Library that are available for reservation by MSU students, faculty and staff. Reservations may be made online or by contacting the Research Help Desk at 606-783-5491.

Study Room 2 - Room 228


​Rules for Use

  1. No food or drinks allowed in the group study rooms.
  2. The equipment in the rooms is to be used for education related purposes only, and not for entertainment. 
  3. Students and faculty may reserve the rooms two weeks in advance for up to 2 hours at a time per day.
  4. Make reservations for this room with the online room reservation system or at the Research Help Desk, 606-783-5491.
  5. When you arrive, see the Research Help Desk to be let into the rooms.
  6. Equipment can be checked out from the Circulation Desk (1st floor).  Items must be returned to the Circulation Desk – fines will accrue by the hour for equipment not returned.
  7. When finished, ensure that all windows are closed, and the equipment and lights are turned off.
  8. When finished, alert staff at the Research Help Desk so they may lock the door and check the room.
  9. Any problems with the equipment or software should be reported to the Reference Desk.
 
 

Guidelines 

Purpose

The Presentation Room (CCL 227) and Study Room (CCL 226) are to be used primarily by students needing practice in delivering presentations or group study. They are equipped to enable a variety of display and recording options.
 

The Seminar Room (CCL 306) is to be used primarily by students, staff and faculty needing practice in delivering presentations, group study, or to hold committee meetings. It is equipped to enable a variety of display and recording options.

 

Priorities for Use

  1. Groups of Students Needing to Practice Presentations
  2. Individual Students Needing to Practice Presentations
  3. Group Study Room
  4. Faculty & Staff Meeting/Presentation Room
  5. Library Staff Meeting Room

If your group is a lower priority, you may be asked to shift to another room or reschedule.

 

Reserving Rooms

Rooms may be reserved with the online room reservation system or by contacting the Research Help Desk at 606-783-5491.


Students and faculty may reserve a room two weeks in advance for up to 2 hours at a time, per day.

 

Equipment

Equipment that does not stay in the room must be checked out at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor. Detailed descriptions of the available equipment are posted in each room.
