Applying for Graduation

Graduation Application Information

Undergraduate students become eligible to graduate by:

  1. Completing all program requirements as specified in the applicable undergraduate catalog.
  2. Applying for graduation and paying the fee. (instructions)
 

Graduate students become eligible to graduate by:

  1. Completing all program requirements as specified in the applicable graduate catalog.
  2. Scheduling the exit exam or thesis defense.
  3. Applying for graduation and paying the applicable fee​:
    1. Degree completion
    2. Non-degree completion

Students who complete degree requirements in the spring or summer are eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony in May of the graduation year. Students who complete degree requirements in the fall or winter are eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony in December of the graduation year. Graduates who elect not to participate in their respective ceremony will not be eligible to walk in a future ceremony unless they earn a new degree. Fees and Deadlines

The application fee for undergraduate students is $60 until the deadline and is non-refundable. After the deadline, the fee will increase to $70. The application fee for graduate students is $80 and will increase to $90 after the deadline. The application fee for doctoral degrees is $150. See deadlines below.
 

Spring, Summer 1 & Summer 2 Terms

March 15
  • Last day to apply for graduation without late fee in effect.
  • Deadline for student's name to appear in the commencement program.
  • Deadline for students to be guaranteed to have a seat reserved for the commencement ceremony.
 

Fall & Winter terms

October 15

  • Last day to apply for graduation without late fee in effect.
  • Deadline for student's name to appear in the commencement program.
  • Deadline for students to be guaranteed to have a seat reserved for the commencement ceremony.

If you are applying after the deadline, please note that your name may not appear in the program and you may not be in original seating order.
