Tuition and Fees

Navigating financial aid and college costs can be confusing, but MSU staff members are here to help. The Office of Financial Aid can assist you and your family in determining the best funding options for you. Our staff are here to help you understand the process of applying for aid and the types of assistance available. Tuition and Fee Schedule

MSU's tuition and fee schedule has been simplified so that you can easily see what you'll pay and to allow you more flexibility in taking classes online, hybrid or traditionally. For information regarding student bills, or the payment of tuition and fees, email a billing representative or contact the Office of Accounting and Financial Services at 606-783-2019.


Fall 2017 & Spring 2018 Semester**

Full Time - Kentucky residents and Ohio reciprocity counties* (taking 12-18 hours, undergraduate) $4,475
Full Time - Out-of-state students (taking 12-18 hours, undergraduate) $6,713

**Per credit hour rates apply to summer and winter sessions.

  • Course Fees
  • To determine your complete cost to attend, please use the Interactive Cost Estimation Sheet to input cost and financial aid data. This will allow you to compare your total estimated costs to your total estimated financial aid.


  • Full-time status is achieved for undergraduate students when enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester.
  • Undergraduate students enrolled in more than 18 credit hours per semester will be charged the full-time rate plus the additional per credit hour rate for each credit hour above 18.
  • Out-of-state and international undergraduate students enrolled exclusively in internet courses and/or enrolled exclusively at a regional campus center will be assessed tuition and fees at the undergraduate resident rate. Academic courses delivered with at least 50% of the instruction online are categorized as internet courses.
  • Students enrolled in internet courses will be assessed tuition at the applicable rate and will be assessed a $10 per credit hour course fee.
