Full-time MSU students who plan to study abroad in Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall 2018 are encouraged to apply; applications should be sent to Dr. Sylvia Henneberg. Your application must include the following information:

  • Your full name, MSU ID, and contact information
  • Your grade point average, credit hours earned, major and minor
  • The program for which you are applying and its total cost*
  • Other funding sources you have secured
  • A brief statement (500 words max) describing the importance of this program to your education, previous experience abroad, and reason for selecting the program/country for which you are seeking support.
  • Names and contact information for two references (At least one must be an MSU faculty or staff member with whom you have recently studied or worked.)


  • Deadline for Winter and Spring Programs: Nov. 15, 2017
  • Principal deadline: Feb. 1, 2018
  • Late deadline (subject to availability of funds): April 1, 2018

Awards will be announced soon after these deadlines; the awarded funds will be released once the student provides evidence of having made a first installment payment for the program.

Incomplete applications will not receive consideration.
