  • Morehead Community Recycling Center:  The Community Recycling Center was reformed in 2000 as an "Interlocal Agreement" between Rowan County, the City of Morehead, and Morehead State University. Their mission is to offer recycling services to the community in an effort to return usable materials to the marketplace and lessen the amount of waste buried in our landfill. 
  • Sustainable Morehead: Sustainable Morehead aims to further sustainable living in the Morehead and surrounding Appalachian region through education, demonstration projects and activities that are based on the interrelationship of personal, social and environmental health. 
  • Daniel Boone Rails to Trails: A non-profit corporation promoting walking, hiking and cycling in and around Morehead, KY. Visit their website for information on the Tripplet Valley Trail Project. 
  • Rowan County Farmers Market: Currently located at City Park at the corner of Bridge & Rowan St, Morehead, Kentucky 40351. Hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11am-5pm.
  • Morehead Community Garden: Launched in  May 2010, Morehead's first community garden features 28 plots on the corner of Bridge and Triplett Streets. In 2011, Sustainable Morehead added an additional site in the Forest Hills area.  
  • Daniel Boone National Forest - Cave Run Lake: Cave Run Lake is nestled among the rolling hills of northeastern Kentucky. This 8,270 acre lake provides flood protection and a clean water supply to area communities. Tourist enjoy the lake for its scenery and excellent recreation opportunities. Boating, camping, fishing, hiking, hunting and wildlife viewing are some of the activities enjoyed by visitors.
  • The Sheltowee Trace Association: A 501(c) non-profit formed to protect, preserve and promote the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail as a significant natural resource for the enjoyment of hikers, bikers and equestrians, and for the value that wild and scenic lands provide to all people.
