Career activities for theatre professionals are widely varied and often intertwined.  Most practitioners of this art form have a combination of facets to their professional activities.  These activities include but are not limited to: actors (stage, television, and film), directors, producers, writers, costuming, design, technical production, and teaching.

Note that those professionals wishing to teach in the public schools are required to have certification and licensure.  Students that complete the BA in Theatre  Education degree earn certification and licensure in addition to the degree.
