Bio

Hobbs, an Eastern Kentucky native, is the Director of Creative & Branding Services at Morehead State University (MSU). She holds both a Master of Arts in Studio Art and a Bachelor of Arts in Art (Graphic Design) from MSU. She is currently in pursuit of a Master of Arts in Arts Administration at the University of Kentucky. She is an illustrator and graphic designer and has exhibited nationally and internationally.

Hobbs was instrumental in developing the initial concept for a mentoring program for underrepresented students, DREAMS, as part of the 2009 class of the MSU President's Leadership Academy and is a founding member and former advisor of ALLYance at MSU. She also established the Hobbs Endowment for Equality, a $50,000 endowment fund committed to supporting academic scholarship and diverse programming at MSU.

She is a former member of the MSU President's Diversity Council and a current member of the National Consortium of Directors of LGBT Resources in Higher Education and was recognized in 2009 as a member of the MSU President's Leadership Academy. Hobbs was featured in the 2009-10 issue of Justice Magazine as a "Face of Justice" in the Commonwealth for her LGBTQIA activism. In 2011, she was named an "Ambassador of Goodwill" by the Kentucky Equality Federation.

Her past contributions include serving on the Kentucky Fairness Alliance Board of Directors, the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen and Downtown Morehead Inc. Her current memberships include the Association for Arts Administrators in Education (AAAE), Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society (O∆K) and the University College Designers Association (UCDA).

She is currently an adjunct instructor at MSU and teaches community art classes at the Rowan County Arts Center, where she also serves as chair of the organization's board of directors.
