Criminology and Criminal Justice

MSU's criminology and criminal justice program focuses on understanding the causes of crime. You will explore topics like problem-solving in the courts, drug and mental health treatment, and innovations in theoretical and empirical work in the study of etiology, prevention and treatment of crime.

Program Requirements

Students must meet MSU's general admission requirements.

Students must complete 48 hours of sociology and criminology courses including the senior capstone, an internship and internship seminar as well as a research methods and data analysis course. Students must also maintain a 2.25 cumulative GPA in the major and earn a C or better in all required course work for the major. Students will complete an exit exam for the major and be a part of a survey for graduates.
