The primary purpose of the Morehead State University School of Music, Theatre and Dance is the academic, artistic, and professional training of students. It is the job of our faculty to help our students be as prepared as possible to enter the workplace. One of the testaments to the success of the school of is its product.
Our alumni are among the most successful educators and professionals in Kentucky and the surrounding states. Many music alumni have gone on to be graduate students at the nation's leading music schools and conservatories, university music educators, members of the world's leading professional orchestras, members of U. S. military bands, Emmy-nominated composers, successful members of the music retail industry, successful members of the recording studio industry, and commercial musicians that have performed with the world's most well-known popular musicians. Alums of the theatre and dance programs have enjoyed success in professional companies on Broadway and throughout the U.S. as well as success on television and in movies.
Alumni are also crucial to the MSU School of Music, Theatre and Dance in the area of development and support. The school alumni provide support through attendance at school sponsored events and clinics, by sending their own children and students to us for training, by giving us the opportunities to come to their schools and work with their students, and through financial commitment.

Development and Giving
The importance of gifts to Morehead State University School of Music, Theatre and Dance cannot be overstated. External funds are needed, in part, to support scholarships, major instrument and equipment purchases, resources for productions, and enhancements to all aspects of our educational program. Several projects are in the development stage, with three of particular importance. The first is the continued work to raise resources to be used for student scholarships. Second is raising money to become a "Steinway School." Lastly, but not of least importance is the move forward to build a state of the art performing arts center.
Morehead State music, theatre and dance students, faculty, and alumni form a unique community that has the ambition, talent, and resources to build upon a solid foundation to make a future full of exciting opportunities. United by our love for teaching, learning and the arts, we will team together to capture future opportunities and move closer to accomplishing our goals. We are grateful for your kind benevolence. Your gifts do make a difference!
