The Kentucky Canadian Studies Consortium was created by Eastern Kentucky University, Georgetown College, the University of Kentucky, Morehead State University, and Western Kentucky University to provide their students with the opportunity to take Canadian Studies Online Program courses as minor and certificate program courses on their home campuses.
CANADIAN STUDIES ONLINE PROGRAM
The Canadian Studies Online Program was created in 2001 to promote our understanding our North American neighbor: who they are, what we share in common, and what makes us different in our increasingly interconnected and interdependent world. William Green has written about the origins and development of the Canadian Studies Online Program in his “Creating a Canadian Studies Online Program,” in the Fall 2004 Canadian Studies Update.
FACULTY
COURSES
Kentucky Canadian Studies Consortium students may take an introductory course, "Perspectives on Canada," and advanced courses on Canadian politics, civil liberties, environmental policy, and economic and social policy. The courses focus exclusively on Canada or study Canada in comparative and international perspective with an emphasis on Canada's relationship with the United States.

CAMPUS PROGRAMS
Kentucky Canadian Studies Consortium students may take Canadian Studies Online Program courses to fulfill the requirements for an undergraduate minor or certificate in Canadian Studies and as graduate and undergraduate elective courses.
Canadian Studies in the Classroom is a Canadian Studies Online Program project designed to promote the teaching of Canada by providing a Unit of Study bank for elementary, middle, and high school Social Studies teachers. At this link are Units of Study designed by K-12 teachers who have taken Canadian Studies Online Program courses as part of their graduate education.
The Canadian Parliamentary Internship Program is a five week summer experience in Ottawa, Canada's capital city. The program involves students in the political life of a Member of Parliament by participating in the work of an MP’s office, attending House of Commons sessions, committee meetings, and official government functions.
2007 ANNUAL MEETING
Since 1996, the Kentucky Canadian Studies Roundtable has held annual meetings featuring a keynote speaker and roundtable sessions devoted to the discussion of matters Canadian. The 2007 meeting was held at the Georgetown College Thomas and King Leadership and Conference Center on Friday, October 5 Our special guest for the 2007 meeting was the Hon. Peter Stoffer, a New Democratic Party Member of Parliament.
