Morehead State University has announced today (Aug. 21) its decision to no longer serve as community host of the Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinic that was scheduled in Morehead, Oct. 25-26.
“We did not come to this decision lightly and it has been coordinated with our key local partners at Rowan County Schools and St. Claire Regional Medical Center,” said Jim Shaw, vice president for university advancement. “We will continue to support the people in our region with other significant health care programs and services.”
The University cited concerns of professional partners in the Commonwealth, uncertainties with liability issues, and difficulties in the planning process encountered during the planning of the October event regarding the decision. Additionally, Rowan County Schools has decided to no longer serve as the host site for the event.
“We wish RAM all the best in all its future endeavors,” Shaw added.
