A survey of recent graduates revealed that 80 percent are employed full-time with more than 70 percent of those people offered their current position shortly after graduation. Dr. Zargari added DETM programs are shaped by input from industry leaders from across the region.
“We have an advisory board made up of representatives of local and regional industry that is actively involved in curriculum development, lab enhancement and providing internships, co-op opportunities, and full-time employment for MSU students,” he said.
MSU graduates are upwardly mobile, as evidenced by 40 percent being given a promotion within five years of graduation. After five years, the average salary for DETM graduates is $55,000 per year. Dr. Zargari said graduates of the DETM work at a wide range of companies.
“The graduates from within the Department of Engineering and Technology Management have received offers of employment from many leading companies in the region including Mitsubishi Electric, Mazak, the Kentucky Department of Transportation, Toyota, Lockheed Martin, Performance Contracting Group, KDMK, Cooper Standard, among a list of others,” he said. “Our graduates are placed in roles such as quality engineer, project engineer, industrial engineer and project manager. All of these titles come with a significant level of responsibility and accountability that I believe is evidence to the quality of programs offered at MSU.”
