    • Appalachian Studies Minor

      The Appalachian studies program offers students diverse opportunities for academic study, service learning, participatory research, community outreach, and advocacy related to the Applachian region.

       

    • Bachelor of Arts in Art

      The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major, an area of concentration, or a minor in art provides for the study of art within a liberal arts curriculum. Emphasis is placed upon the study of studio art. It is suitable for preparing students for careers in art other than teaching art in the public schools.

    • Bachelor of Arts in Art Education P-12

      The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major or an area of concentration provides for the study of art within a liberal arts curriculum. Emphasis is placed upon the study of art education and studio art. The program is suitable for preparing students for careers in teaching art in the public schools and meets teacher certification requirements.

      The Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Advertising Option is designed to help students develop and hone the creative, design, and business skills necessary to work in this fast-paced profession.

    • Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Communication Studies Option

      The Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Communication Studies Option is ideal for students with multiple interests and talents.

    • Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Leadership Studies

      The Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Leadership Studies option trains students to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to become competent communicators as leaders.

    • Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Multimedia Journalism Option

      The Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Multimedia Journalism Option is designed to prepare students for careers in news gathering, reporting and presentation methods that now incorporate multimedia and interactive elements.

    • Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Multimedia Production Option

      The Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Multimedia Production Option provides skills development for using technology to create audio and visual messages for use in all digital media.

    • Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Public Relations Option

      The Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Public Relations Option is designed to assist students in developing the writing, planning, creative, and business skills necessary to work in this highly competitive profession.

    • Canadian Studies Minor

      The International Studies Minor in Canadian Studies begins with Perspectives on Canada, an introductory team taught course, then focuses on advanced courses in Canadian history, government, and economic and social policies from comparative and international perspectives, and concludes with a summer internship in the Canadian Parliament.

    • Creative Writing

      One of few in the country, the program gives students an opportunity to be taught by accomplished faculty members who are working writers through studio-oriented creative writing workshops in poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction. Students are provided a solid foundation of literature courses and complete courses in the humanities, the natural and social sciences and world languages.

    • Criminology

      This program focuses on understanding the causes of crime, the structure of the criminal justice system as well as how this system operates with regard to both sentencing and innovative treatment in the 21st century. 

    • Dance - Minor in Dance

      The Minor in Dance is for those students who desire to pursue a major in another field but also want formal training in dance.

    • English

      English majors who pursue the Bachelor of Arts in English degree take course work in literature, linguistics, and writing. The English major will graduate with both a comprehensive exposure to and intensive understanding of British and American literatures. English majors will become skilled writers who use language as effectively and precisely as possible and critical readers of literature. 

    • English Education

      Students enrolled in the English Education program leading to teacher certification in grades 8-12 receive broad and in-depth preparation in literature, linguistics, and writing and participate in hands-on methods classes that provide real classroom experience for pre-service teachers. 

    • English Graduate Program

      The Masters of Arts in English at Morehead State University offers students a comprehensive overview of advanced literary study as well as courses in creative and technical writing and linguistics. This program is also available completely online.

    • Film Studies Minor

      The Film Studies minor is an interdisciplinary program of study designed to give students a theoretical as well as practical knowledge of film.

    • French Degree Options

      The French program is ideal for students interested in the contemporary world. French is spoken on five continents, and as a second language everywhere. We provide rigorous training in the language and culture, supplemented by several exciting overseas study opportunities.
