    • MAT IECE

      The Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education program prepares individual with no prior teacher preparation to work with young children from birth through kindergarten. It leads to teacher certification and a Masters degree. While enrolled in the program degree candidates can be employed as fully qualified teacher in Kentucky Schools.

    • MAT Special Education LBD

      This program prepares individual with no prior teacher preparation to work with students with a range of disabilities in either the so-called mild (LBD: e.g. learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, behavioral disorders, etc.) or severe range (MSD: e.g. severe intellectual disability, autism, multiple disability, etc.) in public school programs at any grade level.

    • MAT Special Education MSD

    • Middle Grades (5-9) Area of Concentration, Bachelor of Arts

      Middle Grades program is a teacher education degree program with various component areas to be chosen by the candidate. It is a rich focused program aligned with leading middle grades and professional organizations.     • Middle Grades and Secondary Education, Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

      The Master of Arts in Teaching program is an alternative teacher certification program. Completion of MAT results in a Master’s Degree and a Kentucky teaching certification. The program is designed for individuals who have earned an undergraduate degree in a certification content area or closely related field.

    • Rank 1 Program in Secondary Education (extended from fifth-year)

      Rank 1 programs are advanced graduate programs that aim to refine teachers’ instructional skills and arm them with the latest trends in education models, behavior patterns, technology, and leadership techniques.

    • Rank 1 Program in Secondary Education (including Master's Degree)

      Rank 1 programs are advanced graduate programs that aim to refine teachers’ instructional skills and arm them with the latest trends in education models, behavior patterns, technology, and leadership techniques.

    • Secondary Education

      Secondary education certification is received through the College of Education while a candidate is completing their Bachelor’s degree in the discipline field. For persons interested in secondary education certification, please contact Dr. Lesia Lennex, Secondary Education Program Coordinator, Department of Middle Grades and Secondary Education.

    • Social Studies

      By combining courses in social studies fields and education, the Area of Concentration in Social Studies prepares students for teacher certification at the secondary level (grades 8 through 12) in at least four teaching fields.
