- Carlson, Katy
Katy Carlson received a B.A. in linguistics from Yale University in 1995, followed by a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2001. Her research interests are primarily in psycholinguistics, focusing on how people understand sentences and how prosody and intonation affect comprehension.

- Colburn, Glen
Glen Colburn earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990. He regularly teaches British literature surveys and courses in the English Novel. His research interests are the history of the British novel, Augustan satire.

- Eklund, George
George Eklund received his M.F.A from the Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa and has taught at MSU since 1989. He has been awarded the Al Smith Fellowship in Poetry by the Kentucky Arts Council. His work has appeared in The American Poetry Review.
- Engle, Bruce
Instructor English PhD in English Literature Bruce Engle holds BA and MA degrees in English from Eastern Kentucky University and a PhD in English Literature from the University of Kentucky. He teaches courses in Literature, Composition, Film, Women's Studies, International Studies, and Honors.
- Graves, Mark
Mark Graves earned his Ph.D. in English from Bowling Green State University (OH) in 1992. Besides general education offerings in writing, literature, and film, he regularly teaches online versions of Eng 200, both halves of the American literature survey (Eng 341/342), and Eng 365 Literature of the South.
- Helphinstine, Frances
Fran Helphinstine received her Ph.D. in English with a specialization in English Renaissance and Dramatic Literature in April 1978 from Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana. She regularly teaches undergraduate courses in Shakespeare, the English Renaissance.

Sylvia Henneberg received her Ph.D. in English from the University of Georgia in 1997. A specialist in twentieth-century American literature, she regularly teaches American survey and period courses, African American literature, and graduate and undergraduate courses in American poetry.

Chris Holbrook has an MFA in creative writing-fiction from the University of Iowa. He has published short stories in a variety of literary journals including The American Voice, Appalachian Heritage, Wind, Night Train, Appalachian Journal.

- Mincey, Kathryn
Kathryn Mincey has taught at Morehead State University for nearly thirty years, including courses in developmental and general education writing, general education literature, classical literature (for the MSU Honors Program), secondary teaching methods, and student teaching.
- Morrison, Ron
Ronald D. Morrison earned his Ph.D. in English in 1988 from the University of Kansas, where he was trained as a Victorianist. At MSU, he teaches graduate courses in Romantic and Victorian literature and in literary criticism. In 2003, he won an Outstanding Teaching Award.
- Morrison, Sarah
Sarah Robertson Morrison was awarded her Ph.D. in English from the University of Kansas in 1984. She is a specialist in the Restoration and the 18th century and Milton. She regularly teaches ENG/WST 320: Women Writers & Feminist Perspectives, ENG 331: British Literature to 1750, ENG 638 Milton, and courses in the Restoration and eighteenth century. In 2002, she was named MSU Distinguished Researcher.
- Neeper, Layne
Dr. Neeper teaches courses in nineteenth- and twentieth-century American literature that include ENG 422: Studies in American Literature to 1900, ENG 424: Studies in Contemporary American Literature.
- Penn, Steven
Instructor of English After many years in business I became a fulltime English Instructor at MSU in 1999. I teach rhetoric, composition, literature, developmental writing, practical writing, legal writing, and creative writing.
