The Radiologic Science Program at Morehead State University is an associate degree program in Radiologic Sciences.  Radiologic Science is the science dealing with x-rays and other forms of radiant energy as used in medicine for radiographing (x-raying) bones, organs, etc. and for diagnosing and treating disease. Along with lecture courses, the program provides "hands-on" opportunities in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and clinical education centers.  Graduates are eligible to apply for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists national certification examination in radiography.  After certification, graduates are eligible to seek employment in hospitals, imaging centers and physicians offices as radiographers. Graduates may choose to pursue advanced imaging education in areas such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, and diagnostic medical sonography.  As part of the Bachelor of Science in Imaging Sciences Degree, the Department of Imaging Sciences offers an advanced imaging program in diagnostic medical sonography and a program that combines computed tomography and magnetic resonance.

The Radiologic Sciences program has a selective admission process and limited enrollment.  Students apply in the spring for fall admission (see ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS for additional information).  Following official acceptance, the program consists of two years of diadactic coursework, laboratory, and two separate clinical assignments.

Respiratory Care is a health care discipline that specializes in the promotion of optimum cardiopulmonary function and health.  Career opportunities include hospitals, skilled nursing care facilities, home health agencies, and physician's offices.  Note: This is an Applied Science degree, with a selective admission process each year.

Space science is an extremely interdisciplinary and technology-intensive discipline which encompasses physics, astrophysics, satellite telecommunications, electrical engineering, mathematics and computer sciences.

The Department of Agricultural Sciences at Morehead State University offers a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science.  The program covers all aspects of pre-veterinary medicine including all pre-veterinary requirements for all of the major Colleges of Veterinary Medicine in the U.S.  In addition, the program provides "hands-on" opportunities in various animal health and disease laboratories.

The Department of Agricultural Sciences at Morehead State University offers both an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology.  Students in the program develop their skills on a wide variety of animals and take courses that contribute to their understanding of animal care and nursing.  Clinical training is on actual animal patients (not simulated) and is completed at the MSU Veterinary Technology Small Animal Teaching Hospital, Equine Health and Education Center, and farm areas of the Derrickson Agricultural Complex.
