Adult Learners

Whether you're attending Morehead State to earn a new degree, hone your job skills, or complete a degree program that was interrupted in the past, MSU can help you reach your goals.

MSU offers convenient, flexible classes in a traditional classroom setting on our Morehead campus and at our regional campus centers. We also offer a variety of classes and degree programs online.

Financial Assistance

Morehead State can help you navigate through financial aid forms and paperwork, and we offer a variety of scholarships, some specifically for adult students.

  • MSU scholarships
  • Find my financial aid counselor

Students may also take advantage of the following programs:

  • The STEPS project provides work-study employment for qualifying students
  • The Caudill Fellowship allows students, 65 and older, to attend MSU at no cost.
  • Project Graduate: For returning students with more than 80 credit hours, includes a free application, tuition assistance and other incentives.

  • MSU offers assistance for adult and commuting students through student organizations that provide opportunities for interaction and support. These groups have also raised money for scholarships and emergency funds designated for non-traditional students.
  • The Non-Traditional/Commuter Student Planning Council works with the office to plan seminars and other activities to help students become productive academically and personally.
  • The Non-Traditional Eagle Society is a student social organization with members who serve as peer tutors and mentors to new and returning students and who participate in and support other campus events.
  • PINNACLE, the International Non-Traditional Honorary chapter at MSU ensures that non-traditional students receive the recognition they deserve for academic achievement attained while managing family and work responsibilities.

If you have questions, contact Jill McBride, coordinator for non-traditional and commuting students.
