 DEGREE COMPLETION CHECKLIST

The following checklist has been developed by the Registrar's office to help advisors and students determine if a degree has been completed:

1.  Hours completed at MSU

     Bachelors Degree  - Student must have a minimum of 32 MSU hours.

     Associates Degree - Student must have a minimum of 16 MSU hours.

  
2.  MSU GPA - 2.0 (unless student is a teacher education candidate)
     Teacher Education GPA - 2.5
  
3.  Upper Division Hours - Bachelors degree candidates must complete
     43 upper division hours.
  
4.   Hours Toward Degree -  Bachelors degree must complete 128
  
5.   Developmental Courses - Do not count in hours required for graduation
  
6.   BS Degrees - Students must complete a minimum of 60 hours in science
        or science related courses
  
7.   Incomplete Grades - Student cannot graduate if work in any course
      is incomplete.
  
8.   General Education - must be complete for catalog year of student
  
9.   Major / Minor / Concentration - All required classes must be complete
  
10.  Grades Entered - all required courses must have a grade entered
  
11.  Minors - All students with a major must have a minor
  
12.  Degrees Awarded at one time - Only one Bachelor or Associate degree
      can be awarded at a degree date.
  
13.  Second degrees - Students should NOT work on a second degree
      while working on a first degree
  
14.  Transfer GPA - does not count in calculation of GPA for Honors
  
15.  Bachelors Degree Honors - candidates must have a minimum
       of 64 MSU hours and 3.5 GPA or higher
  
16.  Associates Degree Honors - candidates must have a minimum
      of 32 MSU hours and a 3.6 GPA or higher.
