NOMINATION DATE EXTENDED TO MAY 10 TO PERMIT MORE ENTRIES TO GAIN 5 NOMINATIONS IN EACH CATEGORY OF ABOY
To Gain 5 Nominations in all Categories, Nominations will be accepted until April 30, 2009.
ABOY Nominations must be submitted using the Nomination Form and send to ABOY Chair, to Dr. Rob Lockhart Morehead State University, 301 Ginger Hall, Morehead, KY 40351 or email to him at r.lockhart@moreheadstate.edu
It is permissible to use the NOMINATION FORM FROM 2007, JUST CHANGE TO 2008 PUBLICATION
There needs to be at least 5 nominations in Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry and Childrens Literature for the award to be given at 2009 VIRTUAL conference. In order to be eligible, the nominated book must have been first published in calendar year 2008. Authors and poet may self-nominate, a publisher may nominate or someone else may nominate a book. Only current AWA members may make nominations. Members should also supply publisher contact information when the nomination is made. The AWA ABOY chair will contact the publishers and request that a copy of the nominated book be sent to each of the judges for that genre.
Do not send nominations to President, Dr. Christina Walton while she is in process of moving and transitioning as she accepted a faculty appointment at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio and will be leaving Morehead State May 8. As of May 13, Dr. Walton has retained MSU web access and her email, c.walton@moreheadstate.edu through July 2010. With help from Dr. Lockhart nominations will be processed by the judges and awards given via the first AWA virtual conference July 10-12, 2009. Congratlations to each winner. Award winners will be posted to the website and certificates will be mailed to each winner. Thank you for your cooperation during this transition state.
Publishers will decide in which category multi-genre anthologies should be judged.
Fill out your nomination form. The form is dated 2007, but can be used for 2008.
