The Morehead State University Department of Art and Design is one of the most comprehensive schools of art, design and teacher education in the state. The department is widely recognized and respected as a center of excellence in collegiate visual arts education. The department has a long and distinguished history of proudly serving and enriching the culture of Kentucky and surrounding states by offering state-of-the-art programs for educating artists and art educators, and a full season of exhibitions, visiting artists and workshops for the public. The student's instructors in their major area of emphasis serve as their academic advisors. Small class sizes acquaint the instructor/advisor with the student’s strengths and interests and provide a solid base for counseling during each student’s study at MSU.
