Faculty and Staff
Welcome to MSU Career Services.
The mutual goal of both our faculty and career services is student success. By working together, faculty and career services can ensure that the transition from student to a member of the work force is as seamless as possible.
Think of the path our students take to their professional career as a camping trip. Our faculty does an outstanding job of "filling the students' backpacks" with the knowledge and practical skills they need to thrive once they reach their destination. At MSU Career Services, we provide the maps and compasses, and serve as guides for students conducting their career exploration and job search. (NACE, 2007).
How can we help you to help them? Here are some services for faculty and staff.

JOB SEARCH and CONTACT TECHNOLOGY
Morehead State University Career Services has a centralized career management system we call MSU JOB-LINK. This system allows students to upload their resume and other job search documents to be viewed by potential employers. All internships, seasonal, part time, full time, and Institutional student employment will be posted on this system. Students do not pay a fee for this service, but they must agree to a student code of conduct when participating with on-campus recruiting and interacting with our employers. Job-Link Instructions are available on the Career Services website for students.
The system also manages employer contact information and allows Career Services to send out email messages quickly to hundreds of employer contacts. Students will also have access to employer contact information to address cover letters or do informational interviews.
Faculty should refer employers to post their internships and jobs on MSU JOB-LINK. It is easy! Refer them to MSU Career Services website at: www.moreheadstate.edu/career
Employers can click the icon "MSU JOB LINK FOR EMPLOYERS" to the right or go to the employer section listed on the left side of the homepage.
It is important that faculty and staff encourage students to take responsibility for their career development and utilize our resources. Students should be encouraged to do internships to build professional skills to complement their coursework and make them marketable to employers.
INSTITUTIONAL STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
As a student employment supervisor, you are encouraged to post your institutional student employment positions on MSU Job-Link. Students can search for positions and apply directly to you. Click the following link for instructions on posting an institutional workstudy position through MSU Job Link. A position information example is available by clicking on this link. Refer students that are interested in a position to MSU Job-Link. Job-Link Training for Institutional Student Employment Supervisors is available on Power Point by clicking here.
