Curriculum and Instruction

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers students excellent instruction in various areas of specialization. Faculty members are experienced in both college and public school teaching, and work closely with students to help them realize their potential as classroom teachers.

Students receive particular attention through faculty supervision during field experiences and the student teaching semester. Faculty members arrange additional individual study or skill practice as needed.

A number of outstanding facilities are provided for student use. A complete collection of reading textbooks and curricular materials are housed in the Reading Center on the second floor of Ginger Hall. Camden-Carroll Library contains an extensive collection of teaching materials and audiovisuals for classroom use as well as computers and other specialized equipment.
