Campus water outage, May 16-22

 Permanent link
The Office of Facilities Management will be shutting off the main campus water system to install new control valves at various locations throughout the system at approximately 4:30 pm on Friday, May 16. The water is expected to be off no longer than six days, May 16 - May 22.

The new valves being installed will replace 50 plus year-old valves that no longer work properly. This project will greatly enhance the ability to localize a much smaller area when problems occur in the system in the future.

The outage will affect all domestic water in the following major buildings on campus: ADUC, Allie Young, Alumni Tower, Baird Music, Breckenridge Hall, Butler, Button, Camden-Carroll Library, Cartmell, Claypool-Young, Combs, Cooper, Eagle Lake Apartments, East Mignon, Fields Hall, Ginger Hall, Howell-McDowell, Lappin Hall, Laughlin, Lloyd Cassity, Mays, Mignon Hall, Mignon Tower, Nunn Hall, Rader Hall, Recreation & Wellness Center, Reed Hall, Rice, Thompson-Grote Hall, Waterfield, and West Mignon.

Major buildings not affected are: AAC, Allen Field, Center for Health, Education and Research (CHER), Eagle Center, Education Services Building, Jayne Stadium, and the Softball Field.

To address restroom facility availability, the Office of Facilities Maintenance will strategically locate executive wash rooms throughout campus.
