Research Interests: Her current research interests include women in Jacobean court culture, performance theory, classical literature influences in the writing of Shakespeare, and major features/trends in contemporary prize-winning drama.
Bio
Fran Helphinstine received her Ph.D. in English with a specialization in English Renaissance and Dramatic Literature in April 1978 from Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana. She regularly teaches undergraduate courses in Shakespeare, the English Renaissance, the seventeenth century British literature, and drama. She also teaches graduate level courses in Shakespeare, drama, and bibliography (the on-campus ENG 603). Dr. Helphinstine also serves as the Graduate Program Coordinator.
