Her research, grant, publication, and service interests are in reading and writing poetry with younger students, assessing student poetry, teaching grammar and usage in the writing context, research methods for reluctant readers and writers, and professional development for teachers.

BioKathryn Mincey has taught at Morehead State University for nearly thirty years, including courses in developmental and general education writing, general education literature, classical literature (for the MSU Honors Program), secondary teaching methods, and student teaching supervision. She was the 2002 recipient of the Faculty Service Award, and she currently supervises the English Education Center, Combs 402.
