Outdoor Adventures

Mission:

Outdoor Adventures is a multifaceted program within the division of the Recreation and Wellness Center.  Our goal is to ensure overall Student/ Community growth and development through personal experiences.

What we offer:

Outdoor Trips

The Outdoor Adventure Trips take place all over the United States and range from simple Day Hiking to Extreme Skiing and White Water Rafting.  All of OA’s Trips are open to Students, Faculty, Staff and the Community for a discounted price.  Our trained and certified student staff will ensure that you have a safe and fun time on your adventure.  We work with your schedule and provide all the transportation as well as all the gear that you may need.  So if you are looking to check something off your bucket-list, stop by the Recreation and Wellness Center Outdoor Adventures Office.

Challenge Course

The Challenge Course is located right in front of the Recreation and Wellness Center and is open to Students, Faculty, Staff and the Community.  This multi-level ropes course is comprised of both Low and High elements, which are designed to enhance your groups trust, teamwork leadership, communication and problem solving skills.  However, our highly trained facilitators have the ability to tailor learning outcomes to your specific needs.

Rental Center

The Outdoor Rental Center is located inside the Recreation and Wellness Center and provides Students, Faculty, Staff and Community members the opportunity to rent equipment for your own personal outdoor use.  Whether you are hoping to go backpacking for a week or just lounge around in a hammock for a day, we have everything you need.

 Skill Workshops/ Clinics

These short clinics provide Students, Faculty, Staff and Community members the opportunity to learn a new skill or improve existing skills.  These workshops can be created and personalized for your specific group with little to no effort from the requesting party.

Workshops include, but are not limited to:
  • Where to Go and What to Know
  • Backcountry Cooking
  • Land Navigation
  • Minimizing Outdoor Impact
  • Knot Tying
