For this event, MSU and Rowan County High School students, local artists, and other community members have created special tributes designed to celebrate the natural cycle of death and life. This celebration will run from 6-8 p.m. at the Rowan County Arts Center. There will be food , music, art, poetry and games! In addition to this celebration, two free workshops will be held: A Calavera-Writing Workshop will be taught on October 10 and the poems will be read at the November 1 celebraton. Calaveras are satirical poens written about people in the public eye, friends, family members and others who are still alive. The Kentucky Center for Traditional Music will host a Mariachi Music Workshop taught by Mariachi Aztega from 3-4:30 on November 1 and workshop participants will join in the concert during the 6-8 p.m. celebration.
