This program is designed to develop the capacity of individuals to plan, organize, and carry through a variety of education and service programs to meet adult learners' needs in postsecondary and adult continuing education institutions. This program is not approved for rank change for public school teachers.
Our 30-hour Adult and Higher Education Master of Arts program includes a nine-hour area of specialization that can be tailored to student interests and aspirations. Although students are free to develop their own areas of specialization (with adviser approval), the following areas of specialization have been pre-approved by our program and the offering departments:

The Adult and Higher Education Program now houses the P-12 ESL endorsement certification courses. The endorsement is available to P-12 certified teachers. However, courses are available to adult and higher education students as an area of specialization.

Admission to Morehead State University (see MSU admission requirements).
Admission Requirements:1) General admission to graduate study
2) Two years of relevant professional experience is advisable
3) GRE score of 750 or a 30 raw score on the Miller Analogies Test
4) Appropriate TOEFL or English Language Instruction Test of the University of Michigan scores for international students
Program Requirements:1) Satisfy the general degree requirements
2) Maintain a 3.0 graduate GPA. Any student who receives grades of "C" in more than to graduate courses will be immediately dropped from his/her respective program
3) Comprehensive written examination
4) Must be unconditionally admitted
