came to MSU in 1971 as an associate professor of mathematics. He moved through the ranks and was chair of the former Department of Mathematics/Departmental of Mathematical Sciences where he was instrumental in establishing the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree in 2002. He was a member of various national and professional organizations, including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Mathematical Association of America, and president of the Kentucky Academic Computers Users’ Group. He was a judge for the Kentucky Computer Problem Solving Contests and the state finals of the Sweet 16 Academic Showcase. He authored numerous articles and lectured in his field of expertise.
