Kentucky Campus Compact is pleased to announce the first of its service-learning and civic engagement webinar series for the spring semester. The webinar will explore the Mayerson Student Philanthropy Project led by Northern Kentucky University's Mark Neikirk and Danielle McDonald of the Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement.
The Scripps Howard Center has over 13 years of experience administering the Mayerson Student Philanthropy Project and has published a handbook on developing and teaching student philanthropy skills. For more information on this project please visit their website:
This webinar will be held on Friday, January 25th from 10:00-11:00 AM. Being the first of the KyCC webinar series, this January webinar will serve as a beta run for the technology and moderation that will be used. KyCC will be offering monthly webinars on the last Friday of each month this semester from 10:00-11:00 AM. A wide variety of topics will be discussed including: "Service-Learning in all Academic Disciplines," "Publication in Engagement Journals," and "Service-Learning Reflection."
The January webinar will be offered at no cost, however, each following webinar is $25 per institution for KyCC members. For future webinars, institutions must register and pay at www.regonline.com to receive webinar access information. This site allows participants to pay by credit card or by check. The final schedule of webinar topics and speakers will be announced no later than January 25th.
