Mark has been with the Morehead State University SBDC since April 2010. In May 2015 he was named the District Director, overseeing the SBDC locations for Morehead State University in Ashland, Morehead, Pikeville and Paintsville. Prior to joining the SBDC, he has enjoyed a diverse career, working as a finance manager, loan officer and owned several businesses. His entrepreneurial spirit began early; Mark operated an ice cream truck, a window tinting business and a disc jockey during high school. Additionally he worked at and learned from the many businesses his father owned Pike County Kentucky. He has a B.B.A. in marketing and a M.B.A. from Morehead State University, is an Accredited Business Plan Advisor and has his Export and Trade Counseling Certification from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Mark has been the recipient of numerous KSBDC awards including: induction into the Million Dollar Loan Club, the Team Player Award, and the 2013 Sutton Landry State Star- KSBDC’s most prestigious honor.  In his time as a Management Consultant at MSU he has helped clients obtain over $17,500,000 of capital to open 41 new businesses resulting in 201 jobs created or retained. Mark combines his real life experiences as an entrepreneur with the formal education he has received to counsel clients on the full spectrum of business ownership.
