A note from your Hall Director:
Dear Residents,On behalf of the Office of Housing and Residence Education at Morehead State University, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Butler Hall. We are gearing up for another exciting year here... one that will be full of fun, opportunity, learning, and so much more.Whether this is your first year with us here at MSU, or if you are returning to housing for another year, know that my staff and I are very excited to have you as a part of our area. In addition to my role as a Hall Director for this area, we have a Student Director, as well Resident Advisors (RAs), who are ready and willing to assist you with whatever needs you have. Do take the time to know your RA on your floor. He/she is, first and foremost, an advocate for you. This means that he/she exists to address any concerns you have, be it a maintenance issue, a concern about how things are going for you here at MSU, a problem you may be having with your roommate, or if you just need someone to talk to, your RA is there for that as well. Whatever the circumstances may be, all of us here are more than willing to make sure you have an outstanding experience while you are a resident of our area. Here’s an important thing for you to keep in mind: Butler Hall is really more than just a place to sleep. We have a well-rounded community structure in place designed to help you make lasting friendships, and network with your fellow residents on your floor and throughout your residence hall. Additionally, your RA will host various programs tailored just for you; one night, it might be a ping pong tournament. Another night, it may be a program on how to manage your time while in college. Or it could be something as simple as a trip to Eagle Lake, or an MSU Football game. Whatever it is, you’ll want to take advantage of these programming opportunities; it’s another great way to make friends in your hall, and chances are, you’ll walk away with something you didn’t know before!Again, I want to welcome you to our area and Morehead State University. Your comfort and well-being are our first priority. We want to make sure you are having fun, making friends, and most importantly, having a well-rounded college experience while here at MSU. If not all of the aforementioned is occurring, come see me downstairs in the office of your building, or call or e-mail me.
