Lucille Caudill Little Theatre in Breckinridge Hall
The Children's Hour is a 1934 stage play written by Lillian Hellman. It is a drama set in an all-girls boarding school run by two women, Karen Wright and Martha Dobie. Karen and Martha become entangled in a story of deceit, shame and courage when a schoolgirl's whispers spread, triggering a chain of events with extraordinary consequences. Hellman's controversial play was first staged on Broadway at Maxine Elliott's Theatre in 1934, where it ran for over two years, and in 1936 it was put on at London's Gate Theatre Studio and Dublin's Gate Theatre. This performance will run November 18-23 with performances at 7:30 p.m. on November 18-22 and a matinee at 2 p.m. on November 23. Tickets are $10, $5 for seniors and non-MSU students, and free for MSU students with IDs.
