Student Life

As a student of the Craft Academy, you’ll not only have the opportunity to earn up to two years of college coursework credit, you’ll also get to experience college life. Craft Academy students live on the campus of Morehead State University, which is consistently ranked as one of the safest universities in Kentucky.

You will live in the newly renovated Grote-Thompson residence hall, which is specially designed for Craft Academy students. The facility will have meeting and social space where you can interact with your fellow students, or simply unwind after a day of classes. You will have a meal plan, giving you access to the many dining options at the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC) and Alumni Tower. You will also have the chance to interact with full-time MSU students to learn from their experience. You will also be a part of the active campus community, and can take part in the many on-campus activities and entertainment scheduled throughout the year.

The Craft Academy residence hall will have staff available 24-7, and counselors and advisors will be available to help you with any issues you may have, academic or otherwise.

Living on campus means you’ll also have access to MSU’s facilities, including the Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC). The center features an indoor Olympic swimming pool, exercise and weight machines, free weights, basketball courts, racquetball courts and an indoor track. The RWC also holds group fitness classes including Zumba, kettle bells and more. The center is also home to MSU Outdoor Adventures, which offers regional trips for outdoor activities, including:

  • Canoeing
  • Camping
  • Backpacking
  • Rock climbing
  • Whitewater rafting
  • Caving
