What are you passionate about? As a graduate of our
social work program you can make a difference in the lives of others. You will
learn how to advocate for those in need of critical human resources and may
work to improve:
The Bachelor of Social Work handbook is a great guide for students and includes program requirements, policies, deadlines and student organizations.
Many of our students go on to pursue graduate
degrees and are employed in state, local and regional social services agencies
including: health, hospice and elderly care, rehabilitation, domestic violence
shelters, the substance abuse treatment field and school systems.
Consider minoring in Chemical Dependency Counseling. The minor provides
additional preparation for students pursuing a career in the substance abuse
field and complements degrees in social work and criminology.
Students may participate in
undergraduate research fellowships as early as their freshman year. If you wish
to participate, we encourage you to schedule a meeting with any of our faculty
members and advisors; they will guide you in the right direction.
Our program also offers opportunities
for you to network with career professionals, interact with other groups on
campus and gain leadership experience through involvement in organizations like
the Student Association of
