In 2005 Morehead State’s Imaging Sciences department recognized the need for a way technologists, radiation therapists, and sonographers could further their education through a Bachelor’s degree. These health care providers needed a way to work full time while completing their degree. We recognized the need for an online Bachelor’s degree in the radiologic and imaging sciences. The Leadership in Medical Imaging online Bachelor’s degree is designed to prepare working technologists to be competent leaders in Imaging Sciences. This is one of the few Online Bachelor degrees in Radiology/Imaging Sciences in the country. Students can work full-time and complete their baccalaureate degree at the same time to prepare them for a leadership role in Imaging Sciences.
The Leadership in Medical Imaging Program at Morehead State University is an Area of Concentration in the Imaging Sciences baccalaureate degree program. The program is offered online and is available to registered practitioners in therapeutic and imaging sciences. This program allows the student to complete the required courses part-time and is planned for the working practitioner who wants to pursue a leadership role in imaging sciences. The Leadership in Medical Imaging Program, in conjunction with the Department and University's Mission, is committed to preparing graduates to function as competent leaders in the Imaging Sciences profession and to provide a pathway for continued lifetime learning in Imaging Sciences.
1. Integrate methods of leadership, management, teaching/learning, and healthcare regulations into professional practice.

Bachelor of Science in Imaging Sciences, Leadership in Medical Imaging (BSIS-LMI) degree requires a total 120-123 credit hours. Forty-two hours must be at the 300 level or above (6 additional hours are needed beyond those obtained by completing the LMI courses). These hours are obtained from admission prerequisites, general education requirements, imaging discipline, and required core courses.

Total: 24* Students with 24 or more transfer credit hours are not required to complete FYS 101 but the student must complete an additional course of SBS I or SBS II to meet the general education requirements
Applicants may receive transfer credit for courses completed during their professional curriculum in an accredited program. The number of hours that are transferable to MSU will vary with different programs from 32-48. If the transfer credit does not equate to 32 hours, the student must complete the deficient number of hours from the courses listed below. Students must complete a minimum of 120 credit hours to meet degree requirements and may need to complete additional electives to meet the 120 total. A question at the bottom requires you to answer “What work do you want to include?” Select “R –Registered/pre-registered”.5. Click on Submit.

The Leadership in Medical Imaging has a selective admission policy that is separate, in addition to, the University's admission procedure.
A. Unconditional acceptance to Morehead State University through the Office of Admissions. See link above.B. Graduate of a programmatic accredited program (radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance, diagnostic medical sonography, nuclear medicine or radiation therapy). Non-programmatic accredited programs will be reviewed on an individual basis.C. Applications will be accepted beginning in January for the fall semester and must be received by July 15th.
