Bio

Tyler B. Mark is originally from a small family farm in Mt. Sterling, KY. He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Kentucky, an M.S. from Purdue University and a Ph.D. degree from Louisiana State University in Agricultural Economics. Returning to MSU has given him the opportunity to give back to Eastern Kentucky, a region that has given him so much. At MSU he teaches primarily in the areas of agribusiness management, farm management, energy economics and land economics. Currently, his research is focused on biofuels including corn, wheat, rice, energy cane, switchgrass, and sweet sorghum. These crops are currently or potentially being used in the production of ethanol. Concurrent research topics include: expectations of government payments by producers; linkage between direct marketing and income for producers; costs of conducting on-farm research for producers; impact of biofuel production on Southern agriculture and shopping habits of Millennials.
