Math in Career and Technical Education
Joyce Stubbs holds a PhD from the University of Tennessee. Her master's and bachelor's degrees are from Morehead State University. She also holds administration certification for career and technical education. Stubbs has held several positions in education and industry. She has taught at both the secondary and postsecondary levels. She has worked as an administrator for the Kentucky Department of Education and Technical Education. In industry, she has worked as a general laborer in a foundry, a production staff person for a newspaper, a field technician inspecting sewer lines and a production supervisor. Stubbs has presented at local, state, and national conferences, workshops, and seminars. She is a past president and lifetime member of Kentucky’s Applied Technology Education Association, which serves teachers in the state. She has served on two national boards and as a project director on a federal project. She was the first female to graduate from MSU with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts. She is associated with the professional industrial education fraternity, Sigma Tau Epsilon, having served as a national president of the organization in 1978-1979. She is a Chi Omega alumnae of the Epsilon Theta Chapter.
