The MPA is a professional course of study for individuals pursuing careers in government, public service, education, and nonprofit organizations. It actively engages students in a dynamic learning environment combining coursework and research. It develops a comprehensive understanding of the concepts and principles of public administration while continuing our students’ liberal education. The MPA has the highest admissions standards among graduate programs at MSU: a GPA of 3.0 or higher; a GRE of 1100 or higher is preferred (800 min); completed application; undergraduate transcripts; two-page written statement or interview; two references; TOEFL score of 525 or higher for international students.
