Sponsored by MSU's FFA, showmanship events begin at 8 a.m. Prizes will be awarded in three age divisions, and all participants must be under 21 years old. Division winners will compete for an overall award. The entry fee is $5 per showman. The heifer show will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m. with the steer show immediately following. The top three finishers will earn cash premiums. There is an entry fee of $25 per animal, and bedding will not be provided at the facility. The Department of Agricultural Sciences will host Senior Night Wednesday, April 23 in the University farm arena classrooms at the Derrickson Agricultural Complex. A selection of annual and perennial flowers and plants, hanging baskets, mixed planters and vegetable plants will be available for purchase on the following dates:

MSU Veterinary Technology Instructor Amy Staton was named the 2013 Kentucky Veterinary Technician of the Year by the Kentucky Veterinary Technician Association. (KTVA). Staton also recently earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership Tech from MSU. Staton has earned a total of four degrees from MSU, including an associate degree in veterinary technology in 2003, a bachelor's degree in agricultural science and a master's degree in career technology, agricultural, in 2005.
