Research Interest:

1. Construction methods of civil infrastructure
2. Green Construction, Energy Star construction materials
3. Building Information Modeling; Construction related safety
4. Transportation materials; Soil pavement interaction; Nondestructive testing measurements
5. Use of sustainable materials like warm mix asphalt, fly ash/bottom ash, recycle PCC and HMA, epoxy asphalt on pavement; HMA/PCC pavement and overlays, micromechanics
6. Mechanical testing and constitutive modeling of asphalt binders and mixtures
7. Analysis and design methods for pavement management systems.

Research Project Involvement:

1. Worked with MSU faculty on grant called “Advanced Monitoring and Automation for a Safer Relationship between Miners & the Mining Environment” to be funded from Alpha Foundation for the improvement of mine safety and health on 2013, grant proposed amount was $599,924.
2. Grant accepted from MSU Center of leadership and Professional Development to travel China and grant amount was $1500, 2012.
3. Grant accepted from China government, National Science Foundation of China— Foreign Young Scholars Research Foundation to collaborate research with professor of Chang’an University, Xian, China, 2012, grant amount was Chinese Yen 200,000
4. Grant accepted from MSU Center of leadership and Professional Development grant to do research with Undergrad Student Robert Spencer about Low Cost and Energy Efficiency Building, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, grant amount is $1,730/year.
5. Grant applied to A State wide network of Consortia for Rural Energy and Environmental Sustainability (CREES): Capacity Building for Next Generation Energy and Environmental Education and Technologies, 2012, grant proposed amount was $2,988,668.
6. NSF grant applied to National Science Foundation (NSF) Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (TUES) Proposal on A Web-based Learning Approach to Enhance the Materials Science Curriculum in Engineering and Technology Areas. Proposed amount was $240,413, 2012.
7. Grant accepted from MSU Center of leadership and Professional Development to travel Japan and grant amount was $2500, 2011.
8. Grant received scholarship award to attend attended the 2011 Material Handling Teachers Institute (MHTI) on July 31 - August 4th, 2011 in Auburn, AL. Travel grant amount was $1000.
9. NSF grant applied to National Science Foundation (NSF) Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (TUES) Proposal on Enhancing Materials Science Curriculum and Pedagogy: A Path to Improved Student Learning in Math and Science. Amount was $193,429, 2011.
10. Internal grant accepted on Investigation of asphalt mixture using composite material in the Highway Pavement, 2010. Awarded amount was $4975, 2010.
11. Received scholarship award to attend PCA Bridge and Building seminar in Skokie IL on August 2010. Travel grant amount was $1000.
