The Master of Music - Concentration in Music Education option provides a curriculum that offers both accessibility and flexibility. Several of the courses for this degree are offered online. The flexible curriculum allows for a significant amount of study in voice, brasswinds, woodwinds, percussion, orchestral strings, keyboard instruments, guitar, Kodaly, jazz, or instrumental and choral conducting with additional opportunities to study music history and literature and music education. This program was is designed for the practicing music educator. With the unique combination of online courses and face-to-face summer courses, this degree can easily be completed three years without having to take a leave from the students’ teaching duties.

Admission to Morehead State University (see MSU admission requirements).
General admission to graduate study at Morehead State University. Admission to graduate study is granted to students who meet the academic requirements and who hold a baccalaureate degree from Morehead State University or some other accredited institution of higher education, and to certain qualified Morehead State University seniors. A minimum grade point average (g.p.a.) of 2.5 on all undergraduate work is required.
Completion of a bachelor's degree in music education or its equivalent.
A minimum g.p.a. of 3.0 on all undergraduate music courses above the freshman level.
Completion of the entrance examinations in music history/literature and music theory.
