The Community Outreach Partnership Center (or COPC) is a joint initiative between the federal government's Department of Housing and Urban Development and Morehead State University. The purpose of the COPC is to engage the resources of the university into shared partnerships with local community and government groups.
The Center for Community and Economic Development conducts broad-based research and provides services in regional analysis, economic development, and regional policy. Specializations include: computer mapping and Geographics Information Systems (GIS); social indicator research; environmental and natural resource economics; and transportation.
The Environmental Education Center (EEC)is part of the Kentucky University Partnership for Environmental Education (KUPEE). Founded in 2002 with the help of funding from the U.S. Department of Education, KUPEE is a partnership of all the state Universities in Kentucky. Kentucky is the only state to have an Environmental Education Center at every public institution.
GEAR-UP is a Federally funded (nation-wide) initiative aimed at encouraging schools, colleges, universities, and community-based organizations to help students stay in school, study hard, take the right college prep courses, and have high aspirations to pursue collegiate-level studies.
The mission of the Kentucky Center for Geospatial Education, Research, and Outreach is to expand the use of Geospatial Information Technologies within and outside Morehead State University by working towards the following goals:

The SBDC serves the needs of aspiring and established entrepreneurs in eastern Kentucky. The SBDC was established to provide one-to-one counseling services, continuing education programs, and management and technical assistance for prospective, as well as, established business owners. The SBDC also sponsors special projects and conducts research in areas of importance to small businesses throughout its service area. The MSU main campus office and the two sub-center offices in Pikeville and Ashland offer the following counseling and training services: needs assessment; comprehensive business planning; market research; financial statement analysis and control; cash flow analysis and financial projections; management issues unique to small businesses; and technology transfer.
The Morehead State University Training Resource Center is a member of the Kentucky Social Services Training Consortium, a cooperative venture involving all eight of the state universities with the Department of Social Service (DSS). The primary goal of the Consortium is to strengthen the Commonwealth's child welfare, family preservation, and juvenile service components of the social service system through the delivery of high quality staff training and educational programs.
