MSU’s Department of Agricultural Sciences features a strong mix of class work and field experience. Whatever your interest, you’ll get first-hand experience working closely with faculty at our 325-acre Derrickson Agricultural Complex, also known as the University Farm; at historic Browning Orchard or in our state-of-the-art Equine Health Education Center.
Degrees are available in agribusiness, agriculture education, agronomy, animal science, equine science, general agriculture, golf course management, horticulture, veterinary science, and we offer two- and four-year degrees in veterinary technology. Pre-professional programs available include pre-forestry and pre-veterinary medicine.

The Department of Applied Engineering and Technology engages in the diverse study of engineering technology to cultivate and expand your potential. Program options are continually revised with input from an external Advisory Board to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of current industry. In all of our programs, you will receive technology-based, hands-on experience in state-of-the-art facilities.
Degrees are available in engineering management, engineering technology, industrial education and technology management.

In fact, you can receive financial assistance to work directly with faculty through our Undergraduate Research Fellows program.
Degrees are available in biology, biology teaching, biomedical sciences, chemistry, biomedical chemistry, professional chemistry, environmental chemistry and chemistry teaching. Pre-professional programs available include pre-chiropractic medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-medical technology, pre-medicine, pre-optometry, pre-pharmacy, pre-physical therapy, pre-physician assistant and pre-podiatric medicine.
Department of Earth & Space Sciences

Whether you’re fascinated with the nature of our planet or what’s beyond it, there’s plenty you’ll love about MSU’s Department of Earth & Space Sciences. Our Earth System Science program will provide you with the tools to take on jobs like studying and tracking natural disasters, searching for energy sources, testing water supplies or teaching future students. If you decide to enroll in our Space Science program, you’ll be part of a one-of-a-kind academic experience at MSU. Your classes will largely take place in our state-of-the-art Space Science Center. This educational and research facility actively engages you in research in astrophysics, nanosatellite development, and MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems) for space applications. In fact, many students receive research fellowships to work on space missions or astrophysics research.
Degrees are available in space science, astrophysics and geology.
Department of Health, Wellness & Human Performance

Our Department of Health, Wellness & Human Performance will allow you to transform your passion for health and fitness into a successful career in respiratory care, rehabilitation or teaching. Our instructors, leaders in local and national health and physical education, combine instruction with access to our science lab and state-of-the-art Recreation and Wellness Center.
Degrees are offered at the two-year, four-year and graduate level. Degrees are available in exercise science, health and physical education, health promotion and respiratory care.
Department of Imaging Sciences

MSU’s Department of Imaging Sciences offers both two- and four-year degrees and allows you to obtain national certification in radiologic technology, computed tomography, magnetic resonance and diagnostic medical sonography. Regardless of your focus, you will be trained on state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment similar to what’s found in today’s medical facilities, allowing you to learn and practice the skills you’ll be required to utilize on the job.
Degrees are available in computed tomography/magnetic resonance, diagnostic medial sonography, leadership in medical imaging and radiologic science.
Department of Mathematics, Computer Science & Physics

Our Department of Mathematics, Computer Science & Physics will give you both knowledge and experience that will give you an edge in today’s job market. A degree from MSU’s physics program can lead to exciting careers, whether you decide to become a professional physicist in industry, lead classrooms as a physics teacher or pursue graduate work in engineering or related fields. Our mathematics program can lead to a career in teaching or prepare you to pursue a master’s degree or a Ph.D. This department also allows you to minor in computer science or make it your area of concentration in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, giving you a leg up in our increasingly digital world.
Degrees are available in mathematics; mathematics teaching; computer science with tracks in general computer science, computer gaming, and network security; physics with tracks in computational physics, mechanical engineering physics, electrical engineering physics and physics teaching. A pre-professional program in pre-engineering is available.
Department of Nursing

Break into a career in the healthcare industry through MSU’s Department of Nursing. Pursue a two- or four-year degree, or advance your career through our online RN-BSN program. With our STAT (Simulation Through Advanced Technology) Nursing Center, you will simulate imaging procedures in a controlled environment prior to performing them on live patients. Laboratories have videotaping capabilities, allowing students and faculty to evaluate their performance, providing more confidence prior to clinical assignments.
Degree programs include our Associate Degree Nursing program (ADNP), Paramedic to RN Track, BSN pre-licensure or RN-BSN post-licensure.
Department of Psychology

If you want to enroll in a program with increasing job demand and growth, our psychology program prepares you for immediate employment in a variety of fields or for subsequent training in graduate and professional schools. In fact, our graduates are accepted into master’s and doctoral programs at rates above the national average. You will have access to the department’s diverse and experienced faculty as well as multiple research facilities for both human and animal research, using the latest equipment to perform a range of assessments and treatments concerning the biological foundations of behavior.
Psychology can be pursed as a major, minor or area of concentration.
