Welcome to the College of Education at Morehead State University! We are dedicated to preparation of the very best teachers and school personnel and have a rich history of providing educators for eastern Kentucky and beyond.
We invite you to look over our college and departmental webpages to learn how our variety of programs from bachelors to doctoral degrees can meet your education needs and expectations. Our graduates become child care providers, preschool, elementary, middle, and high school teachers, principals, guidance counselors, superintendents, higher education administrators, and policy makers. Our college is NCATE-accredited and each educator preparation program is approved by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.
Our Conceptual Framework is entitled “A Light to and From the Mountains” and embodies our belief that education involves engagement with communities of learners at all levels including P-12 students and staff, university faculty and staff, members of the community, and state and national agencies. We embrace the knowledge and culture that our candidates bring to the learning process and encourage them to use that knowledge to understand effective educational practices to assure that their future students will be college and career ready.
We offer educator preparation programs in face-to-face as well as online formats and some programs can be completed at our regional campuses. All education candidates have dedicated advisors to guide and assist them throughout the processes of admission to graduation.
Thank you for considering Morehead State University as your educator preparation provider and let us know how we can serve you. We are located in 100 Ginger Hall and hope you will stop by and introduce yourself.
