Motivate Your Students

with

Easy Movie-Making Projects

Ray Bailey,

Librarian and Coordinator of Learning Technology Lab

Camden-Carroll Library

1:50-2:50 Monday, October 6, 2008

Repeated at 1:50-2:50, Tuesday, October 7, 2008

CCL 201

It's surprisingly simple to incorporate student video creation into your courses.  Just envision any project that lends itself to being presented via short video clips.  Then provide your students a few basic guidelines and movie-making tips, and they're on their way.   Students typically love creating films on their own, and are highly motivated to learn and do well on the assignments.  The completed mini-movies can be presented in many ways, including via posting on YouTube.  The approach works especially well for small group projects. To insure that everything goes smoothly, the library's Learning Technology Lab can assist you with the whole process, from start to finish.

Two Identical Sessions on Monday, October 27, 2008

11:30 and 12:40

ADUC 302

Learn more about the ways that Internet2 can be integrated to enhance and expand instruction and research in Kentucky’s education system including a K-20 interactive collaboration, resources sharing, remote instrumentation, digital libraries and enhancements to the performing arts.

“The Kentucky Education Network breaks down the physical and political boundaries between secondary, postsecondary and adult education and allows for sharing of rich content and resources throughout the P-20 system,” said Al Lind, vice president for information and technology at the Council on Postsecondary Education. “In tight budget times, this type of resource-sharing and innovation is vital to ensure we keep moving forward.”
