Communication skills are among the most valued qualifications for graduates seeking employment in today’s complex and diversified world. The Department of Communication, Media, and Leadership Studies at MSU prepares students for the challenges of careers within the areas of business, media (television/radio/internet), public relations, advertising, journalism, the arts, and education. The study of communication also enhances a student’s appreciation for humanity’s expressive achievements and the impact of mass media on society.
The department offers a major in communication that allows each student to choose a specialization from one of the following areas: advertising design, public relations, organizational communication, production, journalism.
An exciting aspect of studying Communication at Morehead State University is the ability to work in Breckinridge Hall, the physical home of the Department of Communication, Media, and Leadership Studies. Within the building are state-of-the-art television/radio studios, as well as three computer labs equipped with both Apple and Windows based computers running software specific to the various areas within the department.
