Virgina  Tech Appoints Morehead State Graduate Rachel Holloway to Postion of Associate Dean

BLACKSBURG, Va., July 24, 2009 -- Associate Professor Rachel Holloway, former head of the Department of Communication, has been appointed associate dean for undergraduate academic affairs in Virginia Tech's College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

As associate dean, Holloway will provide leadership in the areas of undergraduate education and student services within the college. In this position, she will offer guidance in undergraduate research, scholarship awards, and university initiatives, including the development of the college's response to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).   (click here for full story)

Hill Honored With Distinguished Creative Productions Award 

MSU honored several faculty and staff members as Provost Karla Hughes handed out the University’s distinguished awards. They are: Jeffrey Hill, associate professor of mass communication, Distinguished Creative Productions Award; Dr. Gerd H. Fricke, professor of mathematics, Distinguished Researcher; Dr. Layne Neeper, professor of English, Distinguished Teacher; William H. (Bill) Redwine, assistant vice president for auxiliary services, Distinguished Staff Service; and Sharon T. Walters, associate professor of accounting, Distinguished Faculty Service awards.


Romito named to AmeriCorps program
