 SAFETY & EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURES

► If the nature of your disability is such that you would require assistance to evacuate a building rapidly without using an elevator, you should inform each professor at the outset of each semester.  You will also need to provide this information and a copy of your class schedule to Campus Police, Housing, and to the Vice President of Student Life, so that a rescue plan can be formed in advance of a drill or actual emergency.

► If your disability could potentially result in a medical emergency during class time, you should meet privately with each professor at the start of the semester to discuss how to best help you in such an event.

► Students who experience an emotional crisis can speak to a professional counselor at the Student Counseling Center at 112 Allie Young Hall (606/783-2123). After office hours, contact the Campus Police Department at 606/783-2035, who will put you in touch with the counselor on call.

If you feel your situation is life-threatening, you should call 911 immediately.
